Crawfish needlepoint patterns

A crawfish seen from above, claws up and tail down, with a tail of segments ending in a fan, drawn in several styles.

It has two short claws, antennae that are long and curve or bend outward in most, and a head shell that is ridged in most. All are four inches square on 18 mesh. The folk art and preppy designs take four colors and are marked beginner; the classic one takes eight and is marked intermediate. The antennae are only two or three stitches thick, so count them before you fill in the background.
