Dots needlepoint patterns

Dots, among them polka dots, Swiss dots, grid dots and diamond dots, most in two colors.

Most are four-inch squares on 18 mesh that repeat, so they can be carried on to any size, and a few are made as a belt, a key fob or a mini stocking. A dot design has a good deal of plain background, so how you work the background matters. Use basketweave where you can: it is the tent stitch most likely to keep the canvas square. These are easy to count, and most are marked beginner.
