Needlepoint loon patterns

A common loon swimming low in profile, two face to face in folk art: a dagger-shaped beak, a striped collar and a back in rows of white squares.

A line of water is joined to the body, the beak is straight, and the collar is of upright stripes around the neck. The loon is drawn in several styles. All are four inches square on 18 mesh, and levels run from beginner to intermediate. Most of the squares on the back are a regular repeat, so count one square and carry it across.
