6 in × 18 mesh = 108 stitches.
Your chart
Choose a picture
The chart keeps the shape of your picture, so its height follows from its width.
Each square is one stitch.
Thread colors
Tap a thread to pick it out in the chart.
Thread colors are approximate screen matches to DMC numbers. Check against real thread before you buy. The number after each thread is its stitches, not an amount of thread.
The numbers are DMC color numbers, which its six-strand cotton and its pearl cotton share. Wool and silk are numbered differently: match those by eye.
| Mesh | Chart width | Widest chart |
|---|---|---|
| 10 mesh | 60 stitches | 20 in (200 stitches) |
| 12 mesh | 72 stitches | 20 in (240 stitches) |
| 13 mesh | 78 stitches | 20 in (260 stitches) |
| 14 mesh | 84 stitches | 20 in (280 stitches) |
| 18 mesh | 108 stitches | 16.5 in (297 stitches) |
This tool charts from 10 to 300 stitches wide, so the widest chart on each mesh is the widest width, up to 20 inches, that comes to 300 stitches or fewer.
“Our suggestion” marks advice that is this site’s own, not a figure from a published chart.
How it works
- The width you ask for in inches, times the mesh, is the width of the chart in stitches.
- A converted photograph is a starting point, not a finished design. Our suggestion
