Hoop and paper

The block letters need room: smaller hoops than these do not hold these words.

The pattern is a PDF of three pages for the hoop you choose: what you need, the pattern at its true size, and the same pattern mirrored for an iron-on transfer pen.

    How to use it

    1. Type your own words in the boxes. The hoop shows them as you type.
    2. Choose other flowers, or tap a picture in the list to add it.
    3. Change any floss color under Colors: press a color, then choose another.
    4. Tap a part of the hoop to move it, make it larger or smaller, turn it or take it off. You can drag it too.
    5. Choose your hoop size and paper, then press Download.

    Questions

What does the keepsake pattern maker make?
A printable pattern for a round hoop: a wreath or a spray of flowers, lines of words in block capitals, and small pictures such as a bow, a heart or a star. The file has three pages: what you need, with the floss list and which stitch goes where; the pattern at its true size; and the same pattern mirrored for an iron-on transfer pen.
What happens when a line is long?
The capitals are never smaller than a little under half an inch tall. A line too long for its place is set on two lines, then in a larger hoop, and the page says so when the hoop changes; a line that fits no hoop is named under its box, for you to shorten.
Which hoop sizes can I choose?
Each kind is made for the hoops that hold its words: the wedding keepsake for hoops of 6 and 8 inches, the baby keepsake for hoops of 6 and 8 inches and the word or name for hoops of 5, 6 and 8 inches. The pattern keeps the design half an inch inside the hoop all around. Hoop sizes for hand embroidery
How do I get the pattern onto fabric?
The file holds the pattern at its true size for tracing, and the same pattern mirrored for an iron-on transfer pen. How to transfer an embroidery pattern
Which letters and marks can I type?
Capitals A to Z, numerals 0 to 9 and 9 marks: a full stop, a middle dot, a colon, a comma, an apostrophe, a hyphen, a slash, an ampersand and a heart. Small letters are set as capitals, and the curled apostrophe, the long dash and the heart of a phone keyboard are read as the plain marks. A character the alphabet does not have, such as an accented letter, is named beside the box for you to respell.
