The Green Man needlepoint patterns

The Green Man, facing front and mirrored: a man's face made of leaves, as carved in old churches, drawn in several styles.

Oak leaves sprout from the brow as hair and from the cheeks as a beard. All are four inches square on 18 mesh and can be made round. The leaves take close shades and two of the thread lists are long, so sort the colors first; levels run from beginner to advanced.
