A hibiscus bloom in four styles: five broad, overlapping petals with a long central column reaching out from the throat.
The bloom faces front and a little to one side. The petals are darker at the throat in all but the preppy design, where the throat is marked with darker lines; the column reaches well past the petals in all but the blue and white design, where it only just clears them. All are four inches square on 18 mesh, and some can be made round. The column is two or three stitches thick, so count it first and build the petals around it; all are marked intermediate.
