Iris needlepoint patterns

Most show one bearded iris, upright and mirrored: three petals standing up and meeting over the center, with the others curving down below.

It is drawn in several styles. Most are four inches square on 18 mesh and can be made as a round ornament. Where the petals are shaded with close colors, compare the threads first; work the standing petals before the rest.
