Map needlepoint patterns

Globes rather than flat maps: a desk globe on a stand, drawn in several styles, and one compass rose.

The globe is a true circle showing simplified landmasses, and the compass rose is a star of points radiating from the center. All are four inches square on 18 mesh and most can be made as a round ornament. Coastlines are irregular edges, so follow them stitch by stitch; each page gives its level and its thread list.
