An octopus facing front, in several styles: a rounded head with two eyes low on it, and eight arms, most curling outward and up at the tip.
Most are mirrored or nearly so, and the arms leave the base of the head, four each side. All are four inches square on 18 mesh, and most can be made round. In the classic and folk art ones each arm tapers from three or four stitches to two; count one side and, where the two sides match, repeat it in reverse.
