Pears needlepoint patterns

Pears, single and by the bowl: one upright pear with a stalk and a leaf in four styles, and three pears in a footed bowl in two.

The single pear has a narrow rounded neck swelling into a broad round base that sits level. In the bowl three pears lean together over a patterned band under the rim: one bowl is in blue and white, the other holds a green, a brown and a golden pear on navy. All are four inches square on 18 mesh, and the single pears can also be made as a round ornament. Where the skin is shaded from one color into another, lay the threads side by side first, to see that each shade stands apart from the next; levels run from beginner to advanced.
