Poppy needlepoint patterns

Most show one open poppy with one or two buds or seed heads, in several styles: broad overlapping petals around a dark or dark-ringed center.

The flower stands on a thin stem; in most, each bud or seed head branches off that stem and the center has a ring of stamens. Most are four inches square on 18 mesh and can be made as a round ornament. Where the petals are shaded with close reds, compare the threads before you start so each can be told from the next.
