Geometric borders hand embroidery patterns

Borders, corners and frames of plain geometry: the Greek key, a chain of diamonds, a Celtic plait, a row of stars and a zigzag.

There are lengths to run along a hem, right-angle corners for a napkin or a tablecloth, and frames that go all the way round, among them a ring of linked spirals for the edge of a hoop. A length is one short run: trace it again and again, end to end, to make the border as long as it is wanted. The zigzag is one closed panel: a gold ribbon between two rows of teal triangles inside a navy frame.
