Peekaboo: preview of the stitched design

Download free PDFPDF, US Letter · 66 KB

The word PEEKABOO stands in one line of slim rust line capitals between two garlands of oak leaves. One garland lies over the word and the other under it: each has an orange pumpkin standing upright at its middle and a branch curving away to each side, with a pair of oak leaves, two acorns on stalks and a single leaf at its tip. The letters, the branches and the acorn stalks are stem stitch, the oak leaves are satin stitch in gold and rust, and the pumpkins and the acorns are satin stitch.

Size and details

Easy. In a hoop of 6 inches or less: short satin stitches, no shading; in a larger hoop the widest satin stitches are long.

Getting it onto your fabric

The PDF holds the pattern twice at actual size: once as drawn, and once mirrored for an iron-on transfer pen. Print it at 100% with scaling off and check the one-inch square (25.4 mm) with a ruler before you trace. How to transfer a pattern explains tracing, carbon paper and the other ways.
