Bernese mountain dog needlepoint patterns

Most show a Bernese mountain dog's head, facing front, with a blaze down the face, marked cheeks and a spot over each eye, in more than one style.

The head is broad, and the blaze runs from the forehead down between the eyes and widens to the muzzle. One design shows the whole dog sitting on grass. All are four inches square on 18 mesh; some can also be made round or as an eight-inch mini pillow on 13 mesh. The thread lists of the classic ones are long, so sort the colors before you begin.
