Scotland needlepoint patterns

Scotland in five subjects: a thistle, the head of a Highland cow, a black Scottish terrier, two bagpipers in kilts, and Glasgow roses.

The thistle has two spiky leaves and in most stands on its stem; the Highland cow is facing front with a shaggy fringe and upturned horns; the terrier is in side view; the Glasgow roses are round pink roses outlined in dark plum on green stems. The thistle and the Highland cow are drawn in several styles. All are four inches square on 18 mesh; most can also be made as a Christmas stocking, and many as a round ornament.

Levels run from beginner to advanced, and many are marked beginner. They take from four colors to twelve; each page gives its level and its thread list.
