Sea monsters needlepoint patterns

The kraken, the sea monster of northern legend, rising to seize a ship: a giant octopus, upright and mirrored except for the ship.

It is drawn in several styles. All are four inches square on 18 mesh. The arms curl in mirrored pairs, so work one side and repeat it in reverse; most are marked intermediate.
