Thistle needlepoint patterns

A single thistle: a round, scaly bulb topped by a tuft like a shaving brush, in most on a straight stem, in several styles.

It is mirrored or nearly mirrored, with a pair of spiky, jagged leaves, one each side. All are four inches square on 18 mesh, and most can be made as a round ornament. The jagged leaves are a run of points, so count one leaf and mirror it; levels run from beginner to advanced.
