Landscape needlepoint patterns

Landscapes, among them mountains, an erupting volcano, a lavender field, the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, the northern lights and a rocky seascape.

The mountain range is three overlapping peaks, the Blue Ridge is rows of ridges that darken toward the front, and the lavender field is rows of purple in front of a house with a terracotta roof and a tree or two. The Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls with a rainbow and a boat, the northern lights over pine trees and snow, and a wave breaking on rocks are each drawn once. The mountains, the volcano and the lavender field are drawn in several styles. All are on a four-inch square for 18 mesh, and some are round views set in the square. The mountains and volcanoes are built in bands from back to front, so work the farthest band first and keep each edge clean; the rock of the canyon and the northern lights are bands too.
