Watermelons needlepoint patterns

A slice of watermelon lying with its curved rind downward, a half circle with the flat edge on top, in more than one style.

Each has a band of skin, a band of rind, and the flesh inside; one has a bite out of the flat edge. All are four inches square on 18 mesh, and most can be made round. The bands follow the curve, so count the outer one first and step inward; most are marked beginner.
