Butterflies hand embroidery patterns

Butterflies with their wings spread, most with every wing filled with pattern.

The wings carry scrollwork, cloud scrolls, the pointed petals of a mandala, the phases of the moon, the veins of a monarch, the eye spots of a peacock butterfly, lazy daisy stitch flowers and, on a butterfly drawn in one navy thread, bands and round spots. There are also a butterfly in a laurel wreath, six butterflies in a ring round a daisy and a butterfly whose body is a semicolon.
