Chevron and diamond bookmark: preview of the stitched design

Download free PDFPDF, US Letter · 5 KB

A bookmark is drawn as a long upright strip with a point at each end. A diamond sits in the middle, with four chevrons above it that point up and four below it that point down. Counting out from the diamond, the first and third chevrons are gold and the second and fourth chevrons are teal. The band of the diamond is teal, around a navy center of the diamond worked in four parts. The chevrons, the band of the diamond and its center are all satin stitch, and the edge of the bookmark is one line of navy stem stitch.

Getting it onto your fabric

The PDF holds the pattern twice at actual size: once as drawn, and once mirrored for an iron-on transfer pen. Print it at 100% with scaling off and check the one-inch square (25.4 mm) with a ruler before you trace. How to transfer a pattern explains tracing, carbon paper and the other ways.
