Marigold ring wreath: preview of the stitched design

Download free PDFPDF, US Letter · 38 KB

A leafy wreath carries four marigolds: one at the foot, one at the top and one at each side, joined by one stem that is clothed with three pairs of leaves in every quarter, all growing from the foot toward the top. Each marigold has three rings of scalloped satin stitch petals, orange outside, gold between and orange within, round a gold French knot. The stem is stem stitch and the leaves are satin stitch in a dark and a light green.

Size and details

The pattern is drawn inside a circle about half an inch (1.3 cm) smaller all around than the hoop.

Getting it onto your fabric

The PDF holds the pattern twice at actual size: once as drawn, and once mirrored for an iron-on transfer pen. Print it at 100% with scaling off and check the one-inch square (25.4 mm) with a ruler before you trace. How to transfer a pattern explains tracing, carbon paper and the other ways.
