Celestial needlepoint patterns

The sky by day and by night: a sun, with a face in most styles, a crescent moon, the phases of the moon, a constellation and Saturn with its rings.

Also here: the sun and moon as one disc or the sun resting in a crescent, and the solar system with its planets in a ring around the sun. All are four inches square on 18 mesh and most can be made as a round ornament. Discs are drawn as true circles, so count them from their quarter points and they will stay round.
