A rolling vine of dark green stem stitch turns through a corner with a leaf on a short stalk on the outside of every bend, out and in by turns, ten in all. Every leaf is two satin stitch halves, one in a lighter and one in a darker green, that meet on its center vein, and eight red French knot berries sit on the vine in the hollows of its bends, across from the leaves. The two arms are mirror images of each other, for the corner of a napkin, a handkerchief or a cloth.

- In a 3 inch hoop the French knots are drawn smaller than about 2 mm (a little over 1/16 in). Use one strand of floss for them there, or choose a larger hoop.
The pattern is drawn inside a circle about half an inch (1.3 cm) smaller all around than the hoop.
