A daisy is seen face on in the Jacobean manner, a wheel of eight petals worked two ways by turns. Four shaded petals are light pink long and short stitch, each with a dark pink satin stitch tongue that springs from the middle. The four banded petals between them are left open inside a gold satin stitch band, with three navy French knots in a row down each. Every petal has a navy stem stitch outline. A leaf tip shows between each two petals, in fishbone stitch, half dark green and half light green, with a dark green stem stitch outline. The middle is a navy stem stitch ring that holds gold French knots.
Size and details
Intermediate. Uses long and short stitch and a great deal of stitching.
6 colors of floss and 5 kinds of stitch:

| 3 in (8 cm) | 1.9 × 1.9 in | 4.8 × 4.8 cm | 1/8 in (3 mm) |
| 4 in (10 cm) | 2.8 × 2.8 in | 7.1 × 7.1 cm | 3/16 in (5 mm) |

| 8 in (20 cm) | 6.6 × 6.6 in | 16.8 × 16.8 cm | 7/16 in (11 mm) |
- In a 3 or 4 inch hoop the French knots are drawn smaller than about 2 mm (a little over 1/16 in). Use one strand of floss for them there, or choose a larger hoop.
The pattern is drawn inside a circle about half an inch (1.3 cm) smaller all around than the hoop.
