Needlepoint winter patterns

Winter designs: snowmen, snowflakes, mittens, skates, sleds, skis, cardinals, penguins, pinecones and holly.

Many are Christmas designs too, and the rest suit the months after the tree comes down. On 18 mesh most of these come out four inches square, the size of an ornament, and many can be made round. To finish one yourself you need board, backing fabric and cord, and it is worth blocking the piece first so that it sits square.
