A sampler shows nine hearts in three rows, the side hearts of each row alike. In the middle a solid raspberry satin stitch heart is ringed with gold French knots. Above it a garnet stem stitch outline holds three small satin stitch hearts, and below it an outlined heart has pink back stitch veins. From the top, the side hearts are a garnet chain stitch heart round a pink heart ring and a solid heart, a pink lazy daisy with a gold French knot center inside an outline, and a banded heart of three satin stitch bands, raspberry above and below a pink one. Small pink lazy daisy flowers sit between the hearts. The border is garnet chain stitch with a stem stitch line inside.
Size and details
Easy. Line stitches and loops and French knots, with some short satin stitches.
4 colors of floss and 6 kinds of stitch:

|---|---|---|---|
| 3 in (8 cm) | 1.6 × 1.6 in | 4.1 × 4.1 cm | 1/8 in (3 mm) |
| 4 in (10 cm) | 2.3 × 2.3 in | 5.8 × 5.8 cm | 1/8 in (3 mm) |

- In a 3 or 4 inch hoop the French knots are drawn smaller than about 2 mm (a little over 1/16 in). Use one strand of floss for them there, or choose a larger hoop.
The pattern is drawn inside a circle about half an inch (1.3 cm) smaller all around than the hoop.
