Easter egg band sampler: preview of the stitched design

Download free PDFPDF, US Letter · 17 KB

An Easter egg sampler holds five rows of ornament in an egg, with one daisy above them and one below. The border is purple chain stitch, with the inner border line in stem stitch. The top daisy and the foot daisy have raspberry petals, a gold center and a green leaf on each side. Between them, from the top down: round scallops, raspberry and gold by turns, on a ruled line; raspberry hearts; diamonds, blue and gold by turns; a row of blue daisies with gold centers; purple hanging scallops with spokes, under a ruled line. The leaves are fishbone stitch, the ruled lines stem stitch, the hanging scallops and their spokes buttonhole stitch, and all else inside the border satin stitch.

Getting it onto your fabric

The PDF holds the pattern twice at actual size: once as drawn, and once mirrored for an iron-on transfer pen. Print it at 100% with scaling off and check the one-inch square (25.4 mm) with a ruler before you trace. How to transfer a pattern explains tracing, carbon paper and the other ways.
