Rosebud spray corner: preview of the stitched design

Download free PDFPDF, US Letter · 9 KB

A spray of three rosebuds fills a corner. Three stems spring from one point: one runs up the left side and one along the bottom, each with five leaves and a rosebud at its end, and a shorter one between them carries two pairs of leaves and the third rosebud. One more leaf points back into the corner. Each rosebud is a dark pink center between two light pink petals, set in a light green cup with a sepal at each side, all in satin stitch. The stems are dark green stem stitch, and each leaf is satin stitch, half dark green and half light green. It fits the corner of a napkin.

Size and details

Easy. In a hoop of 6 inches or less: short satin stitches, no shading; in a larger hoop the widest satin stitches are long.

Getting it onto your fabric

The PDF holds the pattern twice at actual size: once as drawn, and once mirrored for an iron-on transfer pen. Print it at 100% with scaling off and check the one-inch square (25.4 mm) with a ruler before you trace. How to transfer a pattern explains tracing, carbon paper and the other ways.
