Volleyball in laurel: preview of the stitched design

Download free PDFPDF, US Letter · 15 KB

A volleyball sits in a laurel wreath that rises from a star. The ball and its seams are stem stitch, three faces of three bands each whose seams meet in the middle of the ball; the wreath is two branches of satin stitch leaves, eleven pairs and a single leaf at the tip of each, that rise from a satin stitch star at the foot.

Size and details

Easy. Short satin stitches, no shading.

Getting it onto your fabric

The PDF holds the pattern twice at actual size: once as drawn, and once mirrored for an iron-on transfer pen. Print it at 100% with scaling off and check the one-inch square (25.4 mm) with a ruler before you trace. How to transfer a pattern explains tracing, carbon paper and the other ways.
