Cat on a windowsill with daisies: preview of the stitched design

Download free PDFPDF, US Letter · 23 KB

A cat sits on a windowsill with its back turned, between two daisies in flower pots, and its tail hangs down below the sill and curls at the tip. The cat is one outline of brown stem stitch with stem stitch haunches, and wears a pink bow at its neck: satin stitch loops and tails with a padded satin stitch knot. Each daisy has white satin stitch petals round a gold satin stitch center on a green stem stitch stalk with two green fishbone stitch leaves. The flower pots are outlined in rust stem stitch, each with a rust satin stitch rim and a pink satin stitch heart. The windowsill is a band of brown satin stitch.

Size and details

Easy. In a hoop of 6 inches or less: short satin stitches, no shading, with a little padded satin stitch; in a larger hoop the widest satin stitches are long.

Getting it onto your fabric

The PDF holds the pattern twice at actual size: once as drawn, and once mirrored for an iron-on transfer pen. Print it at 100% with scaling off and check the one-inch square (25.4 mm) with a ruler before you trace. How to transfer a pattern explains tracing, carbon paper and the other ways.
