Candy cane heart with holly: preview of the stitched design

Download free PDFPDF, US Letter · 41 KB

Two candy canes lean together to make a heart, their crooks at the top and their feet meeting at the point, round a sprig of holly: two leaves rising from three red berries. The candy canes are striped in red and white satin stitch inside red stem stitch edges; the holly leaves are satin stitch, each half slanted to the center vein in its own green, and the berries are satin stitch.

Getting it onto your fabric

The PDF holds the pattern twice at actual size: once as drawn, and once mirrored for an iron-on transfer pen. Print it at 100% with scaling off and check the one-inch square (25.4 mm) with a ruler before you trace. How to transfer a pattern explains tracing, carbon paper and the other ways.
