Flap pocket with laurel and daisy: preview of the stitched design

Download free PDFPDF, US Letter · 16 KB

A pocket with a flap carries a laurel and a daisy. The pocket edge, with a rounded foot, and the flap are navy stem stitch; the flap sweeps down from each side to a round point in the middle that holds a gold satin stitch button. The pocket stitching, a line of navy back stitch, runs inside the pocket edge. On the pocket two dark green stem stitch stems curve up toward the button, with satin stitch leaves, each half dark green and half light green. Between the feet of the stems sits a daisy of white satin stitch daisy rays around a gold satin stitch daisy center.

Size and details

Easy. In a hoop of 6 inches or less: stem stitch and back stitch, with some short satin stitches; in a larger hoop the widest satin stitches are long.

Getting it onto your fabric

The PDF holds the pattern twice at actual size: once as drawn, and once mirrored for an iron-on transfer pen. Print it at 100% with scaling off and check the one-inch square (25.4 mm) with a ruler before you trace. How to transfer a pattern explains tracing, carbon paper and the other ways.
