About this pattern

A small castle left as bare fabric inside a solid red panel, in the manner of Assisi work. A black line one stitch wide runs round the castle and closes the panel on all four sides. Two towers stand under steep pointed roofs with a lower battlemented wall between them, an arched gate in the wall and two windows in each tower, and the red shows through the gate and every window. The left side mirrors the right exactly. Stitch it on white or ivory fabric: the castle is the cloth. Full crosses only. It is 48 by 44 stitches and uses two thread colors.

48 stitches wide by 44 high: 1,418 full cross stitches in 2 DMC colors (Red 321, Black 310).
