About this pattern

A wooden judge's gavel resting on its sound block, seen from the side. The head of the gavel stands upright on the block: a red-brown barrel with a gold band near each end and a lighter stripe down its lit side. The handle runs out level to the right, slender where it leaves the head and swelling into a thicker grip with a rounded end. The sound block is a low, wide slab of the same wood with a lighter top edge. Dark brown outline. Nothing is written or engraved on it. Full crosses only. It is 43 by 23 stitches and uses five thread colors.
