About this pattern

A young fern frond unrolling on a solid black stitched panel. The tip is still wound in a spiral, light green on the outside and paler toward the middle, with white at its center. Below it the light green stalk runs straight down and carries five pairs of deeper green leaflets, longest in the middle. Every square of the panel is stitched, so the black is thread, not cloth, and each corner of the panel is clipped by one stitch. There is no outline thread. Full crosses only. It is 45 by 61 stitches and uses five thread colors.

45 stitches wide by 61 high: 2,741 full cross stitches in 5 DMC colors (Black 310, Forest Green 989, Hunter Green 3346 and 2 more).
