About this pattern

One pieced quilt block, the eight-point star, worked as a little square mat that is stitched from edge to edge. A terracotta red center square holds a cream square; eight old gold points stand round it, two on each side, with cream between them and a soft blue square in each corner. A dark brown band two stitches wide frames the block, and a border of cream sawtooth points on blue runs all the way round. Every patch is one flat color, with no outline and no shading. The mat mirrors left to right and top to bottom. Full crosses only.

42 stitches wide by 42 high: 1,764 full cross stitches in 5 DMC colors (Medium Antique Blue 931, Ecru ECRU, Ultra Dark Coffee Brown 938 and 2 more).
