About this pattern

A squid seen from above, worked like a motif on an old sampler: a pointed dark red body with a diamond of fins at the top, a head with a gold eye at each side, three thin arms and two long tentacles that end in clubs. One dull red with gold only for the eyes, no outline, and the left side mirrors the right exactly. Full crosses only. It is 17 by 40 stitches and uses two thread colors.

17 stitches wide by 40 high: 267 full cross stitches in 2 DMC colors (Very Dark Shell Pink 221, Very Dark Old Gold 3829).
