A square Christmas border that goes all the way around: a soft green band edged in red, with red hearts and red and white striped candy canes. A heart sits in every corner and in the middle of the top and bottom, six in all; a candy cane stands between each pair of hearts along the top and bottom and two more stand down each side, eight in all. Every cane stands upright with its crook at the top, in mirrored pairs that curl toward the middle, and every heart stands point down. The middle is left bare, 23 by 23 stitches, room for one initial or a tiny motif of your own.
