Count is the number of squares per inch. Higher count makes the same design smaller; the stitches and thread colors stay the same. Sizes shown are the stitched area; allow extra fabric for finishing.

About this pattern

A round design in the manner of seigaiha, the traditional Japanese wave pattern. Rows of overlapping fan-shaped waves fill the lower half, each a dark blue arch over nested bands of blue and white. A plain red sun stands behind the middle wave of the far row, its lower edge hidden, against a white sky. A dark blue ring frames the round, which is stitched all over inside it, the white sky included. The left half mirrors the right exactly. No lettering is drawn. Full crosses only. It is 49 by 49 stitches and uses four thread colors.

49 stitches wide by 49 high: 1,885 full cross stitches in 4 DMC colors (Winter White 3865, Dark Baby Blue 322, Medium Navy Blue 311 and 1 more).
